Data Sources

The dbSpaces CORE Server accesses your organization's data using DBMS adaptors (sometimes known as drivers) and defined as Data Sources in dbSpaces. A data source is created within the dbSpaces System Database and once created is available to all the Virtual Databases in dbSpaces. A Virtual Database can contain database objects from any number of Data Sources.

The dbSpaces CORE Server supports 2 categories of Data Sources; noSQL and SQL.

noSQL

noSQL data sources are based non-relational database files such as Text files, Json files, COBOL files (Micro Focus COBOL, NetCobol, AcuCobol), Key/Value files (CTREE, Berkeley DB, ForestDB), Object Databases (Actian Versant) and document DBs (MongoDB, Couchbase).

SQL

SQL data sources are based on relational databases such as, SQL Server (Microsoft), Oracle, DB2/Informix (IBM), Ingress (Actian), Sybase (SAP), Teradata

The list of supported data sources is growing all the time, for an up-to-date list contact dbSpaces. If there is a data source that you would like supported then contact us to discuss your requirements.
